Nepotism in Bollywood needs to end- here’s why | Buzzing Trends

If we trace back and see the 70’s and the 80’s, there were a lot of outsiders who came into the industry and made their names, but with them…came their family members and they started spreading their wings here, in the Bollywood industry. Nepotism is not only in the blood of Bollywood, it is everywhere whether Politics, Business etc.

The word ‘Nepotism’ germinated when Kangana Ranaut was invited to ‘Koffee with Karan’, where she gave ‘a flag-bearer of nepotism’ tag to Karan.

This year’s IIFA Awards was hosted by Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan held at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. These two along with Shahid Kapoor revisited the nepotism issue that was started by Kangana during that talk-show.

Before taking this story further, Let’s know the correct definition of word ‘nepotism’.

To be clear here, Nepotism is degrading Bollywood badly. Not getting my point???

During the span 1990-2010, If we compare Star-kids vs Self-made stars…Star-kids are uncountable, but what about self-made stars?

Star kids bollywood

Here is the list of star-kids..Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Deol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Athiya Shetty and many are in a queue, waiting for their turn.

Self-made stars, only a few…Yes, only a few. Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Preity Zinta, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and some are still trying to stand on their own feets.self madeBollywood stars

Meanwhile, going back into the mid-eighties, A man wasn’t sure of his life goals…He lost his father at an early age, lost his mother when he was just 18-19 years old, responsibility of taking care of his sister came to his shoulders. He in sudden decided to join Indian Army worked hard as well but destiny had some other plans. Then, put his hands into acting. According to one of his closest friend Benny Thomas, He said, “You know, one day I am going to rule this city (Mumbai)”. That man is none other than Baadshah of Bollywood…Yes, our beloved Mr Shah Rukh Khan i.e. a self-made superstar.

Do star-kids have such kind of motivating stories??? NO. They born to become a star, word struggle isn’t in their dictionaries.

So, If any of your relatives work in Bollywood industry then you don’t need to have any acting skills, doesn’t matter if you can’t dance like Sunny Deol (a pro in dancing…Lol), who cares if you give weird expressions. Eventually, you’re going to get a B-town ticket for sure.

Let’s talk about a person who doesn’t have any higher-links…

Nobody will care even if you’re a complete package, all that matters is your connections. No connections, No ticket! Go home and work hard. You born only to struggle.

Personally, I feel nepotism needs to end because it’s quite similar to caste reservation where SC/ST/OBC are star-kids and GEN are struggling common peoples. Do share your suggestion in the comment box.
